LEARNING OBJECTIVES
This course aim to provide navigators on DP vessels knowledge and skills to successfully renew the DNV DPO certificate. By the end of the course the students shall have:
- Knowledge of the simulator bridge and the equipment
- The capability to operate the DP System in modes relevant to offshore DP Vessels; i.e., Joystick, Autopos, Approach, Weather Vane, Follow Target, Auto Track and Posmoor ATA
- The ability to operate specific Offshore DP Vessels according to field procedures, guidelines and to best practice
TARGET GROUP
Certified deck officers with DP experience, working onboard DP or Posmoor vessels worldwide, who is seeking DNV DPO certification:
- Recertification within DNV DPO scheme
- Converting from other DPO schemes
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
The participants must have completed initial DP Training:
- Be holder of a valid STCW-qualified deck officer certificate and DPO certificate
- Completed sea time requirements in compliance with DNV DPO scheme
