Scope of Work

  • All scope of work related to equipment and systems delivered by Kongsberg Maritime especially K-IMS system
  • Role as Digital Ocean System Engineer does involve minimum work related to networking
  • Collecting, storing and processing data from Kongsberg Maritime systems and 3rd party data providers, through different type of industrial protocols.
  • Work with customers to understand their challenges, improving their efficiency and sustainability through digitalization.
  • Configure databases to structure and organize data.
  • Create apps and dashboards through Kongsberg Maritime digital platform.
  • Handling our core cloud services, digital solutions and our open digital ecosystem
  • Focus on customer support, service on assigned Kongsberg Maritime product range
  • Provides remote guidance and product support to customers
  • Maintain good relationship with existing clients
  • Technical support for the members in CS
  • Proper preparation and execution of work assigned and ensure standards are always met
  • Responsible for generation of service reports, database, and other relevant documents
  • Handling pre and post administrative work
  • Survey, Installation & Commissioning on retrofit, refit & new building projects
  • Promoting teamwork and building human relationship within team

 

Qualifications (Required / Preferred)

(Required)

  • Interest and experience from installation and operation of IT systems, Computer networks, data communication and protocols, Cloud solutions and Microsoft Azure is an advantage
  • Fluent in English, oral and written 
  • Must have excellent co-operative skills, good communication skills, result-oriented and self-motivated
  • Ready and motivated for worldwide support activities
  • Self-driven attitude to find solutions to problems.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and high quality of services
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must meet the health requirements
  • Willing to travel for overseas assignment
  • Able to travel on short notice
  • Able to collaborate with own team and with colleagues from other offices operating in different time zones.
  • This employment may require security clearance by the Norwegian National Security Authority, clearance through Civil Aviation Authority or a background check. Please note that this might affect the offer process or employment.

(Preferred)

  • Understanding of automation, electrical, or control systems.
  • Relevant engineering certifications or technical licenses.  

 

Key Expectations

  • General knowledge and experience within Computer Science and some knowledge how to use industrial protocols like OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, NMEA,
  • Being trained and work experience for Kongsberg product K-Chief 700 system as an engineer
  • Maritime experience and knowledge about either LNG, Offshore or Emission control is an advantage.
