Cost Engineer

Are you interested in working with propulsion solutions for the maritime market of today and tomorrow? An exciting opportunity has arisen as Cost Engineer in our Propulsion and Handling division at Kongsberg Maritime. In this role, you will be a part of Sales Support team in Thruster Systems business, delivering support to our external and internal customers worldwide during sales projects.

Key accountabilities

  • Maintain accurate product and cost data within our costing tools, ensuring high quality and reliability
  • Act as a go‑to support for non‑standard and complex costings, enabling informed commercial and project decisions
  • Conduct deep‑dive analyses into project and product cost structures to identify insights, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Actively contribute to the development and continuous improvement of costing tools, processes, and ways of working
  • Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and project teams to support business success

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with propulsion systems or similarly complex product portfolios is considered an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required; Swedish or Norwegian language skills will be considered an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience with CPQ, ERP, or PLM tools is considered an asset

Work location
Preferred to be Rauma, Finland; Kristinehamn, Sweden or Ulsteinvik, Norway. Other locations can be considered.
