Join Kongsberg Maritime in Shaping the Future of Marine Software Solutions
At Kongsberg Maritime, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation marine software solutions. In this role, you will work at the intersection of technology, quality, and requirements management, ensuring that our solutions meet the demanding standards of defense and security-classified projects.
About the Role
We are looking for a specialist in naval compliance, quality, and requirements management who wants to help ensure that our software systems are structured, traceable, and compliant with both internal and external requirements.
This role is not primarily focused on software development. Instead, you will:
- Interpret, break down, and clarify requirements
- Ensure appropriate structures, processes, and ways of working are in place
- Support the organization in producing clear, complete, and accurate documentation
You will play a key role in creating robust, verifiable, and customer-adapted system solutions for marine applications, often in international and security-classified environments. A major focus area is ensuring clear documentation and full traceability from requirements through to final implementation and verification, demonstrating that both processes and deliverables meet all applicable requirements.
You will be part of the team responsible for developing control systems for marine propulsion solutions, working closely with software developers, quality engineers, test engineers, and project managers.
The position is preferably based in Kristinehamn, Sweden.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that processes, methods, and documentation comply with naval compliance requirements and associated quality standards
- Gather, analyze, and structure system and software requirements
- Break down and clarify requirements to make them actionable for development and verification activities
- Ensure traceability throughout the entire lifecycle
- Participate in reviews as well as verification and validation activities
- Support teams and projects in matters related to quality, compliance, and documentation
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of processes and ways of working
- Collaborate cross-functionally across engineering, testing, and business functions
As we work with customers in the naval defense sector, questions regarding citizenship will form part of the recruitment process. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a security clearance process in accordance with the Swedish Security Protection Act.
About You
We are looking for someone who is structured, analytical, and has a genuine interest in quality, processes, and systems development.
You thrive in a role where you can:
- Create structure in complex environments
- Translate requirements into clear processes and documentation
- Act as a bridge between engineering, quality, and business operations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience with requirements management and documentation in complex technical environments
- Good understanding of quality and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 9001, EN/AS 9100, or equivalent standards within the defense industry)
- Strong ability to communicate requirements clearly and effectively
- Experience working in cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English, written and spoken
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience from the defense industry or other regulated and mission-critical environments
- Experience working with software system traceability, verification, and validation
- Knowledge of AQAP, MIL-STD, or similar defense standards
- Experience with systems for document management, requirements management, issue tracking, and CAD
- Knowledge of systems development, particularly embedded systems
Who You Are
You are an analytical and structured professional who enjoys working in complex technical environments where quality and attention to detail are essential. You have a user-focused mindset and can translate technical requirements into clear and practical solutions.
You are an effective communicator who collaborates successfully across different functions within the organization. You enjoy working closely with developers, testers, and business stakeholders and build trust through a pedagogical and solution-oriented approach.
You are also proactive, accountable, and committed to continuously improving processes and ways of working to support high quality and sustainable long-term solutions.
