Course description: Technical classroom course covering Kongsberg mooring/windlass winch systems with focus on Low Pressure Hydraulic (LP) systems and related winch control. The course is intended to build understanding of system layout, main components, operating principles, and typical operation/behaviour, including indicators/alarms/interlocks. Includes discussion of typical issues, maintenance/follow‑up, and case-based lessons learned.
Course objective: After completing the course, participants should be able to understand the winch system layout and key components, including the Low Pressure Hydraulic (LP) system, explain the main operating principles/limits and OEM guidance, operate the equipment correctly under normal conditions, interpret indicators/alarms/interlocks, and apply recommended maintenance practices and basic troubleshooting using examples and cases.
