DP Status System
The DP Status System is used during critical operations such as diving, drilling, pipelaying or other critical operations, to give a general alert of any degradation of the DP system or the vessel’s ability to continue the operation.
The DP Status System is highly scalable and support up to four alert levels. The DP Status Control Panel is used to manually change the alert level and escalate or de-escalate the alert status as required. This status is repeated as visual and audible signals at appropriate locations around the vessel. The DP Status Panel is used to acknowledge an alert.
The DP Status Controller is used for monitoring and control of the HMI modules and communicates with these modules through hardwiring. Its main functions are:
- Monitoring and control of the status of the DP Status Control Panel.
- Status control of light columns and DP Status panels.
Ex approved editions of DP Status Control Panel, DP Status light column and DP Status sounders are supported for installation in hazardous area zone 1. Automatic DP Status function is supported when interfaced with K-Pos DP system. The DP Status System complies with IMCA M 103 and IMCA D 010.
