An exciting opportunity has arisen as Offshore Automation – Field Service Engineer. Here with us, you will primarily work with Offshore Automation software and hardware in delivery, after sales and upgrade situations on both current and earlier versions of KM Integrated Control Systems (E&P Segments mainly). The position involves extensive traveling (100 + days a year), both planned and on-call commissioning and service jobs.
Qualifications/Skills:
• Technical education, bachelor, or equivalent combination of experience/education in the related professional field.
• Be customer oriented and “service minded”.
• Passion and patience to support customers and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to handle simultaneous activities and work in a hectic environment.
• Willing to expand technical knowledge to other areas through cross-department opportunities.
• Must be able to travel at short notice.
• Must be comfortable with extended travel activity and work tasks controlled by our customers.
• Be a team worker, with excellent cooperative skills towards colleagues and customers.
• Knowledge of general electrical control system concepts such as PID controllers, filters, etc.
• Ability to produce and interpret technical documentation.
• Ability to troubleshoot low voltage electrical components, use of voltmeters, etc.
• Experience with PLC / SCADA systems and their architecture is highly desired.
• Good communication skills and fluent in English - Manage English as the official “work language”.
• Ability to work independently, self-driven.
• Dedication and desire to build a long career within the technical field.
Tasks:
• Provide excellent level of support to customers by phone, e-mail, and at site, both onshore and offshore.
• Provide customer support through commissioning and service on assigned Offshore Automation and cross-trained product range.
• Supply technical assistance during on-call assignments regarding HW/SW issues.
• Attend CATs, Dry-Docking and Sea trials during commissioning and regular service trips.
• Responsible for reporting errors or defects on equipment delivered from KM and suggest improvement actions.
• Provide technical assistance to Sales, After sales, customer, and Automation team.
• Provide correct documentation when requested.
• Responsible for updating CRM, databases and documentation after regular services according to Global Customer Support processes.
• Develop own qualifications by participating at internal / external courses and education.
Authority:
• Prioritize and complete work tasks for the assigned service trip or project.
• Carry out actions to prevent errors within our delivery and after sales deliveries.
• Report all safety/security related incidents offshore.
• Complete and submit timesheets and expenses in a timely fashion.
• Ownership over assigned cases and/or service trips.
• Suggest improvements to our products and report needs to Service Manager or main office.
• Make proactive suggestions to customers on available upgrades and new products while visiting onboard.
