Human Rights
At Kongsberg Maritime, respect for human rights is non-negotiable. We are committed to upholding the dignity, equality, and safety of all individuals affected by our business – from our employees and contracted workers, to the people in our supply chain and the communities where we operate.
Our approach to human rights is aligned with international frameworks such as the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the ILO Core Conventions, as well as the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact. In practice, this means we strive to identify and prevent human rights abuses in our operations and value chain.
We conduct human rights due diligence as part of our enterprise risk management, continually assessing risks such as labor violations, discrimination, or harmful environmental and community impacts. Where higher risks are identified – for example, with certain suppliers or in specific regions – we carry out in-depth assessments and require mitigation plans.
Key areas of focus include decent working conditions, non-discrimination and diversity, and community rights. We respect privacy rights and handle personal data in compliance with GDPR and other relevant national privacy laws.
As a Norwegian listed company, we fully comply with national requirements like the Transparency Act, reporting on how we address human rights and working conditions in our supply chain. Looking ahead, Kongsberg Maritime will continue to promote a culture that empowers employees to raise human rights or labor concerns, and we will engage openly with stakeholders on our progress.
By championing human rights and strong labor standards, we aim to foster a workplace and supply chain where everyone is treated with respect and can thrive.
