The oe15-102/103 underwater CCD camera is the first to offer full SIT performance without the need for an image intensifier. The oe15-102/103 uses a cooled solid-state CCD sensor incorporating Advanced Readout Technology, which gives a significantly higher output signal and much improved Signal-to-Noise, in the Blue/Green light region, vitally important for underwater use.
Since the new camera does not use an intensifier, the sensor-life of the camera is dramatically improved. This significantly reduces the through-life costs of ownership compared to a conventional intensified low-light camera. The operating cost benefit is achieved without sacrificing any light sensitivity or image quality.
The oe15-102/103 camera is particularly suited to underwater vehicle navigation because of the significantly reduced image lag, together with a low distortion, wide-angle of view of 86° in water. The resolution of 430TVL provides a compatible output for the latest generation of high-quality digital video recorders. The negligible magnetic field associated with the CCD electronics also makes it ideally suited for underwater Mine-Countermeasures operations.
